GPSR Desk helps flag listing and proof-file gaps. It does not act as your EU Responsible Person, appoint one for you, or decide whether your product can legally be sold.

Why UK sellers are outside the EU
Great Britain is no longer part of the EU. That means a UK-based maker, brand owner, or seller may not count as an EU-based economic operator for GPSR purposes. Northern Ireland is treated differently for many goods rules, so do not assume a UK address solves EU/NI listing requirements.
When Responsible Person details may be relevant
- You are a UK seller shipping covered consumer products to EU, EEA, or NI buyers.
- The manufacturer listed for the product is outside the EU, EEA, and Northern Ireland.
- Your product records do not show an EU/NI-based manufacturer, importer, authorized representative, or fulfilment service provider that covers the product.
- Etsy asks for Responsible Person or economic operator information in your product safety fields.

What GPSR Desk can flag
- Missing manufacturer name, address, or email.
- Missing or unclear Responsible Person details.
- Product IDs that are too vague to connect listings, packaging, and records.
- Warning or safety information fields that are blank or unsupported by proof files.
- Proof-file gaps, such as missing labels, supplier documents, or RP appointment evidence.
What GPSR Desk cannot do
- Act as your EU Responsible Person.
- Appoint a Responsible Person for you.
- Give legal advice or certify compliance.
- Invent product safety warnings.
- Replace a lawyer, compliance consultant, product testing lab, or qualified Responsible Person provider.
